Queeneva

She comes from Mbengwi, a local community in the Northwest region of Cameroon. Part of the minority English speaking region which is now stricken with armed conflict. She fled for her life to Douala with her child when things had become too risky for them to stay back. Having left school at form 3 when she had her first child Chantal and with little or no support in Douala, she could only secure a housemaid job.

She later became pregnant. The father of her unborn child perhaps out of fear of responsibility disappeared into thin air. An escape that he took advantage of and empty Queeneva of all her savings.

Queeneva and 2 days old Larry, born in the house.

Due for delivery, with no money and no antenatal checks, her water broke and she ended up giving birth in her small tiny room with only a mattress on the floor. Things have not been easy for this hard-working young girl. But God had not forgotten her as people after people began supporting her through similar organisations. Spirit gym being one.

Reaching out to this struggling young single mother, we provided her with some basics to care for her need and that of her newborn baby. A baby she named Larry.

Today, SGIF is giving her the best of assistance we can as we enroll her daughter Chantal in our scholarship program. Her tuition, uniform, notebooks, and other accessories all covered.

Chantal is set for 2020/2021 Accademic year

We can only hope through our partners and goodwill ambassadors to equip Queeneva with better skills and possible finance to give her a better fighting chance for she, her daughter Chantal and her son Larry.

SGIF pays Queeneva and her family a visit.
